This song came out of a desire to write a song to encourage two godly
ladies at church, Barbara Snyder and Betsy King, who were both very ill. Away for the weekend at the Busick’s cabin
with some time on my hands and a guitar, the Lord helped me complete “Wait Upon Me”. When I think
of Barbara, I think of music - she was an excellent pianist and singer. But mostly I think of a friend who was full
of grace and courage, who walked closely to the Lord and glorified Him no matter what the circumstances. Words / music by Keri Jacobs And though you fear the rising rivers, they will never overflow you. I will help you;
I will hold you. I am your sustainer. Refining flames are testing, trying, but they never will
consume you. I am your rock and I am your refuge; My word
will remain true. The black night seems to hide My presence, but will never overcome you. By My strength and by My mercy you have this assurance: Trust in My word, for I am faithful.
Rest in my love, you are My child. |
