Wait Upon Me (now playing)    based on Isaiah 41-43
in loving memory of Barbara Snyder

This song came out of a desire to write a song to encourage two godly ladies at church, Barbara Snyder and Betsy King, who were both very ill. Away for the weekend at the Busick’s cabin with some time on my hands and a guitar, the Lord helped me complete “Wait Upon Me”.  When I think of Barbara, I think of music - she was an excellent pianist and singer. But mostly I think of a friend who was full of grace and courage, who walked  closely to the Lord and glorified Him no matter what the circumstances.      Words / music by Keri Jacobs

When you pass through waters of sorrow, I will be there beside you,

And though you fear the rising rivers, they will never overflow you.

I have called you; I will keep you. I am God, your Maker.

I will help you; I will hold you. I am your sustainer.

When you walk through trials of fire, I will be there to shield you.

Refining flames are testing, trying, but they never will consume you.

I am your strength, and I am your shelter. Fear not, I am with you.

I am your rock and I am your refuge; My word will remain true.

When you walk through shadows of silence, I will be there to guide you.

The black night seems to hide My presence, but will never overcome you.

I will counsel; I will comfort. I am light in darkness.

By My strength and by My mercy you have this assurance:

I am the Lord; wait upon Me. I am the Lord; wait upon Me.

Trust in My word, for I am faithful.  Rest in my love, you are My child.

I want to especially thank Demetrios Braddock for coming down from Connecticut to record violin on this song in Barbara’s memory.
